T42 - Tuesday - The perfect cup of tea

It really has been way too long since I have done a T42  Tuesday.  And yes the teapots are getting dusty and in need of some attention.  I have been going back through my old T42 posts to see which teapots I have already shown you so that I don't double up, but it is quite a task.  On my search I found this one, which was on my birthday wish list for last year!!! I still really, really, love this one.  My love of retro radios, yarn and crafts, tea and biscuits and teapots are all represented.

How to Make the Perfect Brew

1. To make the best tasting tea, you will need a kettle in which to boil the water, and a teapot in which to brew the tea.
2. Fill a kettle with fresh water of any temperature, and put it on to boil. Do not reboil water, as the air has been boiled out and the water will be flat.

3. While the water in the kettle is heating, fill your teapot with hot water to preheat the pot. This will help keep the water hot for a longer time when added from the kettle for brewing tea. When the water in the kettle begins to boil, pour the water out of the teapot.
4. Add your favourite tea to the teapot. If you are using loose tea, add one more teaspoon for each cup and another for the pot. If you are using teabags, keep in mind that most teabags will make two cups, so add bags according to the numbers of cups your pot holds. For example, a standard six cup pot would take three teabags. If you like your tea very strong, add another teabag.
5. Bring the teapot to the kettle so the water will be boiling when added to the pot. Place the lid on the teapot, and steep from three to five minutes. Teabags brew much more quickly than loose tea, so two minutes may be long enough if you prefer a lighter tea.
6. Pour out the tea, and add sugar, lemon, or milk as desired. Low calorie sweeteners also work well in tea, but try sparingly until you find the right taste. Pour tea made with loose leaves through a strainer.
7. Refill the pot from the kettle for more cups of tea. Remove teabags or loose tea after the second brewing; do not leave the tea leaves in the pot, or the tea may become too strong and bitter.
8. After refilling the teapot, you may want to use a tea cosy to keep the tea hot for second and third cups.

Yesterday was my birthday!

I got lots of lovely cards.

Mum made me this

spectacular cake which was as yummy as it looks.

An awesome Heart teapot from hubby as well as the lazy susan it is sitting on , made by him .

One of my dearest friends gave me the most beautifully perfumed rose plant "angel face".

Coupons from the kids including a "free carwash", which I cashed in as it was only valid for my birthday.

Mum in law made a stunning quilt which I am yet to take photos of...stay tuned.

Plus I went out for lunch with the family - so all in all a fabulous birthday.

T 4 2 - tuesday ...oops a little late.

Seems that it is now Wednesday, how did that happen?

So what do I have to show you today for T42.

Well this morning I was given a couple of lovely matching teapots from my dear gran, as well as some cosies she no longer needs.

Oops, it appears as though my collection has grown a little bit more!!

They are SWAN CARLTON brand Made in England.

And how cute is this elephant tea cozy.

Hot orange and brown - oh so retro. I love it.

And this adorable little checkered tea cozy...

Thanks Gran. She knows that I will take good care of these.

t 4 2 - tuesday

I am so pleased with myself as last week I tackled the massive task of dusting and rearranging all my teapots, and cleaning down the pelmets that they sit on. I made myself a deal a while back that I would not buy any more teapots unless I got rid of one - due to lack of space!! Well I cheated a little and bought some more recently and with a little rearranging managed to squeeze them in.....shhhhhhh.

So here is one of my latest additions from Teapottery

T 4 2 - tuesday

One of my favourite teapot makers is Swineside Teapottery England, Established in 1978.

You can read all about them on their website and browse through the wonderfully zany teapots they create.

I am lucky enough to have a few of their teapots in my collection and have recently purchase a few more. I could show you them all today but then what would you have to look forward to next week.

So for today I present to you the Woodworkers Bench Teapot.

T 4 2...Yes, it has been a while

I used to be very good and have a weekly T42, where I would dust off a few of my teapots and share them with you. It has been a while but I am hoping to be a little more disciplined and start dusting again!!

This pot didn't need dusting off as it is one that gets used quite a bit. It's a Churchill from the Georgian Collection. I thought I would start off with it just to get me back into the swing of it.

Junk Love

So what did I find over the weekend to share with you this week...

Well, tucked away on the floor behind some other junk at a garage sale, I spied this beauty.

It is only the highly collectable "perfect teapot" by Robur tea company. It needs a really good polish up but I think it has to be my "find of the year" - I was so stoked.

I also picked up these few craft books, which are full of lots of great projects.

A fabulous weekend. Markets, Wine, Music....

After a day of heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds I was unsure just how the easter weekend was going to turn out. But as luck would have it, the sun shone down on us for a perfect market day on the Denmark River.

The next day we went to a winery to chill out and watch

Xave Brown play some great tunes.

It just so happens as an extra bonus for me that they were having a Teapot Exhibition

at the winery.

You could make a huge brew with this one.

Xave Brown and his son, who plays a mean bongo. We were about this close from the band - scored the front table. Nice.

Wacky Candelabra - I made it

After watching a DIY show recently, I found some inspiration and a wonderful idea on what to do with a chandelier, that I had bought at a garage sale years ago.

It has been adorned with teacups, teapot and hanging cutlery and is now residing on my front verandah (apparently it was too mad to be hung inside ).

So here you have it

Secret Santa - 6 Days to go.

This year I put my hand up to participate in the Etsy Dust Team Secret Santa. None of us could actually wait until Christmas to open our gifts so we have been having fun sharing photos of the gifts as they are received. My parcel arrived yesterday from Bee @ Witchetty. Of course I had no idea she was my Secret Santa and the item she made for me was on her blog a few days ago - I loved it so much and wanted to buy it...all the time not being aware that she had actually made it for me!!! I will not keep you in suspense any longer.

Well for those of you that already follow my blog you would know that it just had to be Teapots!!! So I am going to show you some of my collection, but if you haven't been following then just search up teapots on my blog and you will see some more of the collection so far.

T 4 2....and DUST Craft Swap

Now that the pressure of Blogtoberfest is off I haven't blogged for a few days - but keeping up with my Tuesday commitment to dust off a teapot , we are back on track with T42 Tuesday.

Last week I showed you a couple of storybook teapots - The pinocchio being one of my favourites, and I also said how I really wanted to add some more storybook ones to my collection....Well, look what turned up in the post today!

Then we have The Tales Of Honeysuckle Hill

On the reverse it reads
