What have I been up to.

Well this week I have been finishing of my craft-swap items for Penny, who has a fabulous etsy shop PENNY FARROW DESIGNS where she sells handmade leather accessories. I can't show you photos of that though as it will spoil the surprise for Penny.

I have also been trying a few new crochet ideas
A little cupcake which you can open the top and store all kinds of little things in.
Hair clips
Safety Pins
Tooth for the Fairy
Little notes or wishes
Beads
Earrings
Party Decoration
But as we know little girls have wonderful imaginations, so there are lots more things you could use your cupcake for.

Some fingerless Mittens for these chilly mornings

And I had the pleasure of meeting up with Liz a DUST team friend who has a store selling button jewellery (hundredsofbuttons). She is travelling around the lower end of Australia with her husband and another couple . Liz, Samara (Maddabling) and I got together for a lovely lunch. Samara got to see Liz one more time before she headed out of town, and she was very naughty and gave Samara and I some lovely button jewellery - You can see Samaras HERE.

And I found one of my Alice Spoon Pendants in this fabulous treasury

Junk Love - A little makeover

Over the weekend I decided to have a go at making our small backdoor area look a little bit more inviting. It is hard to make an area that has the dogs kennel, shoe bucket, clothes line and toys look very good - But with a splash of colour a tidy up and rearranging a few things , it is now alot nicer.

This is not a true before photo - as it has had all the junk removed already -
but you get the idea
A nice bright splash of aqua on the walls, some grey on the floor and on the dogs kennel.
The other half of the area is not in view as I still need to paint the back door and might see if I can thrift a little table over the weekend - perhaps a nice bright pot plant or two.
So more photos next week of the final look

Through the Looking Glass - Library Display

For the last few weeks I have been lucky enough to have a display of my jewellery on show at the local library. In a beautifully lit glass cabinet here is what you would have seen.

Wishlist Wed(thursday)...

So there are no rules to say that I can't do my Wednesday Wishlist on a Thursday. Half of Australia had a public holiday on Monday so for them Thursday is like Wednesday...anyway enough of the excuses. This week I have chosen some little baby girl items as I recently became an Auntie and squweeeeeee I get to see her today.

The Fork-n Jewellery Tree

Here is a little creation that I have been working on - Another great upcyling idea! A little tree for you to hang your earrings and rings on. This tree is adorned with some fabulous little cakes from WONDERLANDIA . They are some of what is to offer in her patisserie range of earrings.

THE ART EXCHANGE EVENT - Do you want to join in?

Well earlier in the week I received an email asking if I would like to join the
ART EXCHANGE EVENT.
How it works is you make one crafty item - be it hand sewn, knitted, drawn...whatever as long as it is hand made by you. You send that item to the person on the top of the list, you then add your name to the bottom and ask 6 friends to participate to keep the art exchange rolling. You should send your item within 7 days and then if everyone plays fair you should receive 36 hand crafted items in your mailbox...Very cool hey.
I need a few more crafty friends to send the email to - so if you would like to participate in the Art Exchange - CONTACT ME .

I made flag bunting

I made this flag bunting to use at the local Town Library display I have set up, however it is a little big for the area. It will however be used at markets. I was very pleased with the end result.

Junk Love

So what did I find over the weekend to share with you this week...
Well, tucked away on the floor behind some other junk at a garage sale, I spied this beauty.
It is only the highly collectable "perfect teapot" by Robur tea company. It needs a really good polish up but I think it has to be my "find of the year" - I was so stoked.

I also picked up these few craft books, which are full of lots of great projects.
To see what other Junk Lovers have found this week
