Last Day - Blogtober - Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone!!
You know , it's that crazy day of the year, that nobody really understands however the kids get excited because it is all about dress ups and lollies.
I love that is very theatrical and you must admit the pumpkins looks pretty funky.
Just not sure what all the spooky , creepiness is all about.

I have been having a bit of creative block lately!  Hence the reason I have not shown you much of what I have made lately.  Life got a little crazy for a few months, and with me staying full time in hospital with my little girl , my priorities were shifted and it is taking me a while to get back on track.  My creative outlet though is something I love to do, and it is a big part of who I am , so when you get stuck and are just not sure what direction you want to take ( or what to even make) it is hard.

So yesterday, I grabbed my hook and yarn with no real plan on what I was going to make - I just needed to make something!  And despite my lack of direction, pattern or ideas I am pretty pleased with what I made.  It needs a little finishing off so I will show you on I MADE IT MONDAY..

Far out it's Friday

It's official - I am a Blogtober Fail.  I just can't keep up the pace of everyday blogging, and I can admit it.

The Maddabling Photo Challenge had its last day today and like all photo challenges it was good fun.  With such an unusual list of photo subjects it left it wide open for interpretation.

T42 - Tuesday - Blogtober

Guess what the theme for today is in my Photo Challenge?
Day 11 - Tea and Sympathy.

My photo is comprised of one of my lovely birthday cards and a selection of teas,  with a paper people chain made by my youngest daughter, which randomly was made from the death notices.

So I thought it fitting to share with you for T42.

Rock-tober Party

Firstly, Sorry for slipping a little this week with my Blogtober Challenge.  I have taken on the photo challenge as well as blogging challenge, and must say I am just not disciplined enough .

Last night hubby and I went to a good friends 40th birthday party.  The theme was Rock Gods, Groupies and Roadies, which left it pretty wide open to interpretation .  At the party you could spot, Michael Jackson, Ozzy Osbourne, Cindy Lauper, Tina Turner, Gene Simmons, Jake Blues, Chrissi Amphlet, Stevie Nicks, Elvis, Johnny Cash, The Boss and lots of rock groupies .....It made for a fun night.

So I was a little undecided as to who to go as.  Blondie was an option but as I kept adding things to my outfit I just decided I was a Rock Groupie (A pretty scary one though, could barely look at myself in the mirror)

My good friend Samara of Maddabling fame, came over to do some dramatic eye make-up and finish off my hair chalking (pause for a moment).......

Hair Chalking -  Have you heard of this?  If not, it is so cool.  I bought some recently for my girls as an easy way to add a bit of colour and it really is pretty fun.

These are some of the awesome effects you can get

Back on topic....... So this is how my hair was progressing

And the make-up!
Well earlier in the month I posted a birthday wish list which included this eyeshadow combo from Rhasdala - well I bought it!  And it came in handy.

So the look...

Junk Love - Blogtober

Calling all JUNK LOVERS!  Are you the kind of person who doesn 't see junk, but sees something just waiting to be transformed then show us what you have done.  The JUNK LOVE CLUB has gone pretty quiet over the last few months and I didn't want to see it disappear.  So with permission from Emma who began the club , I have now taken it on and looking for members.
Each Wednesday we come together to show each other what we have found, made, completed....and just share the Junk Love.

If this sounds like you then simply grab the JUNK LOVE picture, put it on your blog and link it back to here.  Then send me a message so I can add you to the list.  Easy!

Ok, now to show you part 2 of my bicycle garden art project - If you missed the first part then you can catch up HERE

Did you guess the right colour - It had to be Pink, didn't it.
Now at first i was going to remove the baby seat but then on second thought decided that it would be a pretty handy spot to put some plants.  It doesn't look fabulous just yet, but when those lavenders grow up and are in full pink/purple bloom it will.
An old wire hanging basket (which has actually been used as a fairy mobile before this , but had run it's course) it attached to the handlebars and lined with paperbark.  Potted up with daisies, lavender, geraniums to name a few, it is going to be a gorgeous splash of colour soon.
And here it sits, against the fence amongst the rose bushes.  I love it.

T42- Tuesday..Blogtober

It's tuesday already!  I had forgotten how hard it was to blog every day.  The thing is I don't want to bore my readers, neither do I want to feel as though blogging is a chore, so if I miss a day or two it's just because there was nothing that needed saying, Ok.

But it is tuesday so I am going to stay committed to T42 and share my wonderful teapot collection with you.

I think this one is quite fitting for how I am feeling after having a birthday yesterday, and having quite a traumatic few months with my youngest daughter being ill.  So this teapot sits in full view above the sink for me to read everyday.

You might also notice the string hanging out of the spout, well it also doubles as my string holder.

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow to see my "Junk Love" bicycle makeover completed.

Birthday - Blogtober

It's Today!  It's Today!
Well my birthday is nearly over.  It's been a lovely day with family and food.

Mum made me a chocolate cake
And wrote my name in chocolate!
How special is that.

I also got an adorable Teddy Bear Cookie Jar from Hubby and the kids.
This is from the same maker as the Teapot I was given last year so matches really well
A gorgeous bowl of camellia flowers and LOVE word art

It is not all about gifts, as much as it is to feel loved and special, just for a day.
Thankyou to everyone who loves me

Photo Challenge - Join Me.

Hello World!  Hope you have had a wonderful day.
Soon the Maddabling Photo Challenge will begin and it is not too late to sign up.  These are loads of fun and also helpful if you get stuck for a blog post during Blogtober ,you can just put up your photo of the day.

So the challenge has been put up by Samara, and she has come up with a very cool abstract list,
Which looks like this.

You may recognise some of the daily topics, mmmmm.  Well they are all album titles from Top 100 Australian albums as voted by Triple J.  It may be a little difficult, but that is all part of the challenge, and it will be fun to see how people interpret each day.

If you want to join in then visit either Samaras blog Maddabling
Or join up on the Photo Challenge Facebook Page

The Challenge Starts on Saturday 13th October

Blogtober - Junk Love

It's JUNK LOVE Wednesday!!
If you are not aware of what this is all about then it is simply a little club of people who love to transform junk into all things fabulous.  It is a great place to get ideas, be inspired and show off what you have done.  If you want to join in on the Junk Loving then

So what I am working on this week is transforming a really old bicycle into some garden art.
I am sure you have all seen how funky it looks when they get painted up and potted up with a basket full of flowers.

This is what I am starting with, although I had already given it a good wash down at this stage.

I have actually started to paint ,but soon discovered I was going to need more than one can of spray paint.  It is now too windy for me to finish it off so the colour and big reveal will happen on Junk Love next Wednesday.

I hope many more of you will join in on the fun of Junk Love.  If you want to see what other Junk Love projects I have done

I Made It!! Monday...

So everyone seems to have little themes for days of the week - I used to do T42 Tuesday, where I would showcase one of my teapots from my huge collection each week (it was also incentive for me to dust one off once a week).  Anyway, maybe I should get back into that as they could do with a dust that is for sure.

Well it is Monday and I have something to show you that I made over the weekend, so I am calling today
 I Made It - Monday.

As you know I have made plenty of fun themed hats and always on the look out for more ideas.
There have been
 Owl

 Elmo

Now to show you my latest little creation.  I was inspired by this photo that I saw.
A little Cabbage Patch Doll hat!!  How cute right.

And this is my version, my first one.
There are a few more being made and I have a couple of different hair style ideas for them.
This one is "Strawberry Blonde" with golden locks and pink streaks, and is modelled by one of my old 80's patch kid babies.

So there you have it
I Made It - Monday.
