Blogtoberfest Day 30- Freakin Halloween....

Whew! We are nearly at the end of blogtoberfest what a month!! The end of October brings us Halloween, which even though we don't celebrate in Australia it is a bit hard to ignore -
I went into Spotlight today to find all the staff dressed up in Freaky Costumes - One girl even had a knife hanging out of her arm (not real of course)...I must admit I kind of found it a little off putting when I was trying to buy some nice pink cupcake flannelette and being served by a massive pumpkin!!! Anyway here are some halloween etsy finds.

Blogtoberfest Day 27- T42 Tuesday

Welcome to another T42 Tuesday -
Today we will be taking a peek at a couple of storybook Teapots
This one is one of my favourite Sadler Teapots from the Storybook Collection , it is thePinocchio

With beautiful illustrations and it looks like a stack of books - I am hoping to get another one in the series for my collection soon

Then we have The Tales Of Honeysuckle Hill

On the reverse it reads

Honeysuckle Hill is a small Hamlet located next to willow Brook. Nestled among the wildflowers and herbs are the homes of the locals, hence for generations most of the inhabitants have been named after the various wildflowers and herbs that grow in the area.
Vibrant and full of life, there is seldom a dull moment in Honeysuckle Hill. This thriving Hamlet is full of characters who all play an integral part within the community.
I have just completed 4 more of my
series which will be listed in store over the next few days.
The perfect accessory for a teaparty

Blogtoberfest Day 25- Handmade around our Home

I have followed the lead of Lisa over at
with a little post called Handmade around our home - Basically find something in your home that has been handmade and share it with the readers. Well as there is soooooo much in our house that is handmade I had no problem in finding something, infact I had didn't know what to choose.

So firstly here are some canvas's that hang in our loungeroom that I painted - just a little bit of abstract colour

A sweet fabric teddy bear that hangs in our house made by my Mum
Home Sweet Home
And our magnificent Jarrah bed made by my Husband - It has wonderful big Jarrah Slab ends and chunky post legs.
The only thing is that I can never tell him off for not making the bed anymore!!!!
Oh and not forgetting the Black and White cushions on the bed made by Rachelle @ Miahenry

blogtoberfest Day 10- What is becoming of me??

I make jewellery - Right?? So what is this latest obsession to try and sew...hmmm. The thing is that the weather has been too cold for resin casting and with the school holidays it is also a bit hard to get all the icky , gooey, smelly resin stuff out (NOTE : resin and kids do not mix). So if you have been following my blog you would have seen that I made a Sock Monkey earlier in the week, and it was fun. Then I read about the Softies for Mirabel Charity Project which you can read all about on Meet me at Mikes Blog and I thought that it would be something I might like to have a go at. So I searched for a SIMPLE pattern and found this rabbit - there are easy to follow instructions and pictures if you want to try one for yourself - Pattern Here

So here he is - Little Bunny Foo Foo....

You know that when you make something you really shouldn't show the pic of what it is supposed to look like - especially when you cook ....But I think little bunny foo foo looks enough like the picture to be able to show you...

I learnt a few things from my first attempt which I can improve on next time , but overall pretty happy with him.

Blogtoberfest Day 9 - Clare and Timothy

Last night I went out to see Clare Bowditch in The Start Of War concert - she was fabulous, a wonderful singer and all round entertainer...love, love, love her music. Got to meet her after the show and had a CD signed and a chat - it was a top night.
She actually came out for her encore wearing this dress that she wore in her filmclip - It is made from garbage bags!!!
Another thing I love about Clare is that she has a little teapot that she calls Frank which she actually plays in one of her songs - now there is a talent I can work on.
But what was a surprise was the support act - A Guy by the name of Timothy Nelson from Perth WA. He was actually up for an award last night in Perth at the WAMIs but he didn't think he would win, so chose to come down and support Clare and sent one of his band members to represent. Half way through his act he got a message to say that he had one. So watch out for this name - he is going places.

Blogtoberfest Day 7 - Meet Popcorn

After putting this MONKEYING AROUND TREASURY together earlier in the week I had the urge to try my hand at making a Sock Monkey
(note: Sewing is not usually my thing, so any resemblance to the pattern is a miracle)

And here he is...Meet Popcorn, the cheeky new addition to the family.
He is very inquisitive....
And loves to explore.. (ahem...my resin bangle tree)
Thats better - this tree is more your style
We find him in the craziest of places
And he can be very , very , stubborn
But overall, we think he is pretty cute! How about You.

blogtoberfest Day 6 - T42 Tuesday

As it is school holidays and we have been in toy making mode I thought it fitting to go with a toy theme T42 Tuesday.
These ones are all miniature teapots.

Mickey Mouse in his Chrissy Costume -
A little early for christmas but I think he is just keeping his eye on the kids for Santa
Stay tuned tomorrow to meet Popcorn -
a very cheeky little character which came to life today

Now , there is a wonderful giveaway to be found HERE where you can win an entire collection of Bespoke Illustrations
