Thrifty THURSDAY..No 3

It's all the rage at the moment - Everyone likes to upcycle
We need to do our little bit to help the environment, and I think there is alot of satifaction to be had in creating something new and different from something no longer used.

Upcycled Army bag by kerrishangups. Who would have thought these boring old bags could look so cool.

I remember my Nanna making coathanger covers out of old plastic bags well it appears it is still happening. Here we have a Hobo Bag by carataylor made from coloured plastic bags. She also does clutches and purses.

It's Hump Day -

Here we have Belinda the Bilby settling nicely into her new home here in WA - and she is showing off the awesome pendant from Deborah at Uniquedichroic which arrived today.
Thanks Deborah.
I have a stack of pastel resin square bangles which I finished off today as well as a couple of new designz of rings - these ones are chunky (not to be messed with). Not sure if I should sell the bangles as a stack or individually. I think they look good together.

Winter Warmers....

Flames

Well it looks like Winter is nearly here. As much as I love the days of sunshine there is something about winter that is nice too - perhaps it is the warmth of the wood fire - dragging out the Ugg Boots - Hot chocolate - Hearty Soups - Extra time to craft! (and waste on the computer)..Whatever it is, it is nearly here....
Pictured above is my latest resin bangle which is a hard one to part with (as they all are). The colours of the winter fire are just divine - Amber, Charcoal, Smokey Black and White all swirling into flames. Wear a bit of that lovely winter warmth. Now in Store.

Wow I have had a lucky week.

How is my luck this week, I can't believe it but.....
I WON Again.....

This stunning pendant made by Deborah at UniqueDichroic is all mine thanks to her recent blog giveaway. She makes the most gorgeous pendants - I am so lucky. And she lives in my part of the world too in the beautiful South West of Western Australia. I feel a little greedy now for winning two giveaways in one week, especially after saying that I never win anything - well maybe I do after all. Still I am not complaining. Woo hoooooo....

Button Bangle

Well today I tried out the Button Bangle Kit sent to me from Liz at HundredsofButtons. Being my first attempt I am very happy with the results. I changed the clasp from a loop arrangement to a magnetic one - only because I made it too short but I think the new clasp works well. Thanks Liz, I can add this to projects I have done list.

After me saying in my last post that I never win anything, I got such a nice surprise this morning to find out I was the winner of Belinda Bilby made by the generous Sally at Blu'bies. Up in the Blue Mountains is where Sally creates lots of cute and cuddly little animals such as echidnas, quolls, koalas, possums, owls and bats . Belinda Bilby has a long journey ahead of her , lets hope it is a safe one.

Where is the week going...

Well I missed doing Wishlist Wednesday this week and I haven't anything prepared for Thrifty Thursday so I think my spoon pendants are pretty thrifty so they are it for this week. These are my latest glam spoons and I love them so much I am undecided as to whether to sell them or not. hmmmm...I guess I am just going to have to make more. Check out some of my other spoon pendants in store.

Whats in a name....

This is the latest item which is about to get listed but I am undecided on what to call it. I like to title all of my pieces and I have a few names rattling around my head for this one, but thought I would see what suggestions come forth...

I am just a CAN DO kind of gal....check it out.

For those of you who saw my item for Wishlist Wednesday (see post below) you will recognise this. I mentioned it to my hubby and he said "I could make that"...So without any further hesitation I said "yes, yes, yes!!!please make me one".... So today my wish became reality and here it is hanging on the wall. The clock parts are probably not the best suited for it as they don't show out very well but they were actually out of and old clock of the kids. So I might just paint the hands white or something, but other than that I think it rocks!!!! What do you think?

Thrifty THURSDAY..No 2

Here we go with my second week of THRIFTY THURSDAY...There are so many wonderful things being made from items most people just throw - So if you have found something worthy of being featured join me in my thrifty thursdays

Here we have an item from RETROGRANDMA (I love her stuff). Beatles Abbey Road Record Handbag!!! They are made from the original album covers which has a protective clear covering .

Hows this for a thrifty idea - This clock has been made from an old cereal box!!! It would look very kitch in the kitchen. Find it at AlienBacons etsy shop.
Reusefirst has made this card from discarded paper scraps and old housepaint - They have been silk-screened and I think look very cool and very Thrifty indeed.
I found this clutch that has been made out of recycled photos!! Not sure how practical they are but they look pretty funky and definantly fit into the THRIFTY theme. You can find this and also wallets and handbags made the same way at raspberryconverse on etsy (of course)...

Alice Peered through the keyhole......

My DUST TEAM CRAFTSWAP item has arrived from the wonderful Vanessa at Light and Shade. She has made for me an adorable paper sculpture corset on the Theme of Alice In Wonderland. The corset has been made from pages of the novel by Lewis Carroll and if you peer into the keyhole there are miniature playing cards tumbling down. The corset is even laced up with black satin ribbon. It is just soooooo adorable - Thankyou so much Vanessa.
And the little card to go with it was a beautiful touch - They are both sitting in pride of place on my bedroom dressing table.

Bangles..bangles..bangles....

I just wanted to share with you the latest lot of resin Bangles to hit my shop. The colours in all of these are just fabulous - they sparkle and will add some funk to any outfit. Take a peek in my store.
