Junk Love

So as promised yesterday, I am back with my Junk Love. I popped into the thrift shop after dropping off a bag of old clothes and this is what jumped into my hands.

This little guy just had one of those faces that once you have picked him up, you just couldn't leave him behind. He is handmade and has lots of gorgeous embroidery stitches all over and matches in well to my lounge room. He is really quiet and you would barely know he was there. Shhhhh.

Then I passed by this little dish - How could I resist ?

And lastly this silver basket is just perfect for putting all those little bits and pieces in next to my lounge chair. It was quite tarnished but I polished it up nicely.

And today in the post arrived the first edition on the Spoonful Zine - I am yet to read it, but it is something to look forward to later today.

So I have been busy - Junk Love will be late

Today is actually Junk Love Club day. I didn't get to any garage sales or thrift shops over the weekend. I do however need to drop off a bag of old clothes today so will pop in and see if I get inspired by anything I see. Then I will report to you tomorrow...Promise.

JUnk LOVErs Club - Is it really Wednesday already!!!

So here I am checking emails etc and it dawned on me - it is Wednesday! Which means I need to do my Junk Love . So what do I have for you this week?

Well, I do not have Before Photos of this project - but just imagine your old grey high school lockers.

These were actually from my old school so they have a little bit of sentimental value too. They were being thrown away to make way for the new ones.

They have been given some colour and stencilled shapes, and are now the perfect girls room storage solution.

Being metal they have the added bonus of being magnetic, so easy to put pictures up , inside and out.

A giveaway for Tupperware Junkies...

The Shape-O

I do not believe that any of my readers would not own any tupperware. It is iconic, funky, practical solution to storage. Alot of us have way too much tupperware and hence are "tupperware junkies". If you are a tupperware junkie then you would know all too well about the "tupperslide"...this is infact a term I made up but you would have experienced it. Reaching into the cupboard to find a container, which is nestled among several others, you get hold of it and try to carefully bring it out, only to find that the rest of the tupperware has toppled over and done a big "tupperslide" onto the floor!!!! Ahhhh the joys of tupperware.

Well it just so happens that I am an ex-dealer of tupperware and have quite a few keychains and little gift items , which are excessive to my needs....sooooooooooo, I thought how about a giveaway.

Cherry on the Top

As promised - Here is my crochet Cupcake. It has been scented with essential oils so smells good too. I will be giving this one to my daughter on her birthday this Saturday.

Earflap Beanie.

I have been trying a few new crochet projects. This is one of them! My first attempt at an Earflap Beanie - I think it worked out wonderfully. I am also making a crochet cupcake which just needs it's cherry on top and to be stitched together - I will take pics of that later in the week.

Junk Lovers Club

Oh, I am little excited as I just discovered the Junk Lovers Club..

You know what they say though - One man (or womans) junk is anothers treasure. Well boy do I have some treasure around here!!

So this is my first JUNK LOVE Wednesday....and I am going to show you a Junk Creation.

My 8 year old daughter has lots of accessories, hair elastics, headbands, clips, hats, scarves, bag....you get the idea. So we made this on the weekend to hang all those bits and pieces in one neat place.

It is the Accessory Tree!!

Made from a tree branch out of our backyard and an old hanging basket which I spray painted.

Unexpected Visitor

On the weekend I got quite a surprise while hanging out the washing.

A chicken had found it's way into our backyard.

This kids were excited, but the dog wasn't quite sure what to do with the visitor...

so he just played follow the leader.
